Representation At Meet-And-Confer Grievance And Arbitration Hearings

At Denton Navarro Rodriguez Bernal Santee & Zech, P.C., we assist cities that have meet-and-confer status under the Texas Local Government Code with contract grievances, arbitration and other labor negotiations involving police departments, fire departments or other public safety employee groups.

Meet-and-confer cities are excempt from the collective bargaining requirements that other cities must follow in negotiating with public labor groups. While this can offer more flexibility in contract negotiations, it can also lead to complex questions and disputes.

Drawing on our in-depth understanding of the laws and regulations governing meet-and-confer cities and municipalities, our attorneys offer smart, creative guidance through contract disputes and grievances. We also offer proactive counsel to avoid disputes in the future.

A Focus On Amicable Resolutions For Cities, Counties And Housing Authorities

We approach every case as unique and tailor our solutions to each client’s particular needs. Wherever possible, we focus on finding common ground and seeking noncontentious resolutions between cities and public employee groups. If arbitration becomes necessary, we offer strong representation throughout the process, drawing on our extensive experience working with many of the arbitrators in the state.

With offices in San Antonio, Rio Grande Valley, Austin and Texas Gulf Coast our lawyers serve communities, counties and special districts throughout the state. To discuss how we can help your city, we invite you to schedule an initial consultation with one of our experienced attorneys.
