Upcoming Conferences for Texas Officials

On Behalf of | Jun 25, 2018 | Municipal Law |

On July 13 in Navasota and August 10 in Forest Hill, the Texas Municipal League (TML) will be sponsoring Problem-Solving Clinics for Small Cities. Each one day clinic addresses questions regularly faced by officials, both elected and appointed, who serve in small cities.

The clinics address a number of foundational topics, including legal requirements for officials, legislative issues, TML services and other matters of importance for Texas officials. The legislative issues session is led by two attorneys from TML’s own staff, so you know you are getting the latest take from legal professionals whose sole focus is the service of municipal officials in Texas.

The clinics go beyond the lecture format, offering sessions formatted as question-and-answer discussions as well as roundtable discussions. Those formats provide you with multiple opportunities to bring specific questions to groups of people who share the same municipal concerns you do.

Many officials we work with enjoy these get-togethers. The meetings serve as an opportunity to check in with other similarly-situated small city officials from throughout the area.

Friends are also made. Every public official understands how difficult service can be sometimes. It always helps to know there are other people out there who know what you are facing and can even lend a helpful ear.

Additionally, becoming active in the TML is a sure way of staying up-to-date on the latest developments in municipal law and practice. You can get other insiders’ views on current controversies as well as the solutions put into practice throughout the state.

You can register online for the Problem-Solving Clinics for Small Cities.
