George Edward Hyde is a Partner in the Firm. Mr. Hyde received his Juris Doctor with cum laude honors in 1998 from St. Mary's University School of Law. In 1988 he received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas State University. Mr. Hyde has served local government as general and litigation counsel since 1999, as special project counsel for various local governmental entities, officials and employees since 2001, and as City Attorney since 2003. He handles all aspects of general and special counsel representation and defends public officials, local government, and both for-profit and non-profit organizations at all stages of litigation (including pre-litigation, administrative, trial and appellate.)

He additionally maintains membership in and/or participates in several professional, community and civic organizations. He is a regular state-wide speaker and provides training in many aspects of local government operations and management. He has presented for the Texas Municipal League, Texas City Attorney's Association, Texas Municipal Human Resources Association, Texas Municipal Clerk's Association, Texas Municipal Court Education Center, University of Texas Land Use Conference, Texas Police Association and the Texas Chapter of the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association, among others.

In 1999, while serving as general counsel for the Alamo Workforce Development Board, Mr. Hyde successfully defended the Board in a lawsuit wherein the Plaintiff challenged the Board's very designation as a local government entity. He obtained a published opinion by the San Antonio Court of Appeals recognizing Texas Workforce Development Boards as govenmental entities entitled to immunity. Since, Mr. Hyde served the City of Somerset, Texas as its City Attorney and Municipal Prosecutor for several years and currently serves as the City Attorney for the City of Garden Ridge, Texas.

Mr. Hyde also serves or has served as general counsel for the Windcrest Economic Development Corporation, special project counsel for the Victoria Sales Tax Development Corporation and the Texas cities of Universal City, Live Oak, Cibolo, Windcrest, Schertz, New Braunfels, Victoria, Seabrook, Laredo, San Antonio, Pleasanton, Kerrville, Hondo and Del Rio, and for the Texas Counties of Maverick, Frio, Karnes, Bandera and Kendall, among others. He is also approved litigation counsel for all the members of the Texas Association of Counties.

Mr. Hyde holds a Texas Peace Officer license with certifications as a master peace officer, instructor, and firearms instructor. He is currently commissioned as a Lieutenant for a moderate sized police department of a San Antonio suburban community where he serves as the Division Commander for Professional Standards & Training and is involved in all aspects of the department's mission.
