George truly is a “renaissance man.” Raised by public-servant parents who experienced both WWII and the depression era of the 1930’s, George learned early in life to think creatively, develop alternatives and find success through public service and contributing to others. He possesses a variety of experience having been Texas born, California raised, Texas educated, and essentially continuously employed since age 13. George finds interest in movies, history, travel, wine and song.

George served as a volunteer firefighter in Guadalupe and Hays counties from 1983 to 1988 and as a Texas Peace Officer in both paid and volunteer capacities from 1989 through today. After graduating from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 1988, George began gathering litigation experience working with trial attorneys in product liability, labor and employment, and insurance defense matters.

George obtained his Juris Doctorate cum laude from St. Mary’s University School of Law in December 1998. He is now a seasoned trial and appellate attorney, admitted to practice in Texas, the Western, Southern and Northern Federal district courts, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

George now both practices in, and supervises Firm attorneys and staff performing legal services in all of the Firm’s practice areas. George holds merit certification in municipal law by the Texas City Attorney’s Association and serves as City Attorney, Economic Development Counsel, Litigation Counsel, Labor and Employment Counsel, Police Legal Advisor and Ethics Counsel, while managing the Firm’s Austin office, which includes its Government and Regulatory Affairs practice.

George is also a regular presenter at continuing legal education and local government employee education events.
